Saint Latest Update: Saint Top Star Marshon Lattimore Break Silence On Contract Dispute As he Issues a Shocking Update on His Future with The Saint

The New Orleans Saints fans might have been on the edge of their seats when Marshon Lattimore’s name appeared on the trading block. After a stressful and disappointing season, Dennis Allen remained convinced that his cornerback, along with Alvin Kamara, would return for organized team activities. The four-time NFL Pro Bowl pick appears to be sticking around after reaching an agreement with Mickey Loomis to renegotiate his contract.

It was a big question if the Saints would keep Marshon Lattimore. The rumours of his leaving from Dennis Allen’s system grew stronger after they selected Kool-Aid McKinstry in the NFL Draft. While their secondary has grown significantly, the Pro Bowl defensive force made several points apparent during his most recent appearance, according to Mike Triplett of New Orleans Football.

Marshon Lattimore Saints contract restructure makes trade more likely

“I’m definitely number one. I am number one. I want to prove it. I felt like I started last year with an All-Pro season. I’m just ready to be better than I was before. And I’m working towards it. “I’m just ready,” he stated.

Notably, Marshon Lattimore suffered an injury during the Saints’ Week 10 game against the Minnesota Vikings. His right ankle was in a lot of pain, so Dennis Allen and the rest of the staff moved him to the IL. Eventually, he was declared out for the remainder of the season.

He only managed to make 48 combined tackles, with 39 of them being solo takedowns. Not to mention, he recorded an interception in a short period of time. This is a long cry from his average NFL Pro Bowl productivity, which typically totals over 59 points. However, it was an improvement from his 2022 stat total, which only had 29 takedowns.

“I am here. Do you understand what I am saying? I have to be here, present. I’m not worrying about being traded or anything like that. To be honest, I don’t care. “I don’t,” the best cornerback stated.

Lattimore’s Situation with the Saints
Being on the chopping block following a reorganization and a serious injury is not pleasant for any player. However, Lattimore is one of the rare exceptions to the rule. He reflected on how the Saints expected him to stay. This was despite rumours of tension between him with the Mickey Loomis-led front office.

He even expressed a wish to stay with the Saints and help them reclaim their NFL glory.
