Jasson Dominguez has been reinstated by the Yankees, according to Jon Morossi of MLB Network. This trade also resulted in Jon Berti being placed on the 60-day injured list to free a slot. Aaron Boone and the rest of the organization now believe the 21-year-old is ready to take the next step following his injury rehabilitation assignment. While many Yankees fans are eager to see him replace Trent Grisham, he will be optioned to the RailRiders first.
There could be two major causes for this change. Jasson Dominguez just underwent Tommy John surgery for a damaged ligament in his elbow. This is what prevented him from returning to the Yankees after being called up by Aaron Boone. They are now taking all necessary efforts to keep his future from crumbling. Given his current condition, the move to the RailRiders makes sense.
Another element to consider is the Yankees’ existing batter depth. Aaron Judge is the team’s leader, with Alex Verdugo, Giancarlo Stanton, Trent Grisham, and Juan Soto backing him up. In the last ten games, this team has helped the Yankees gain a lead against the Baltimore Orioles. They went on an amazing run, winning eight games and losing only two.
