Kyle Busch slammed Ross Chastain during the recent NASCAR Cup Series race in Iowa. The race at Sonoma last week was tumultuous, with multiple accidents reported throughout the day. One of the most dramatic events was the final lap accident involving the Richard Childress Racing Chevy driver and the Trackhouse Racing Chevy driver, who were battling for a top-five finish.
Ross Chastain collided with Kyle Busch after an aggressive overtaking manoeuvre, causing major damage to his No. 8 Chevy. Busch finished 12th, as his car ran out of fuel just before crossing the finish line. Chastain claimed the manoeuvre was an accident, while Busch commented sarcastically after the race.
Busch admitted that his car faltered on the penultimate lap at Sonoma, but he believed he had left Chastain enough distance to pass him. He commented on how drivers race against one another, notably mentioning Chastain.
Prior to the Cup race in Iowa, Busch attacked Ross Chastain once more, calling his manoeuvre dumb. Despite giving Chastain adequate room to pass, Busch thought he was unfairly eliminated from the race due to the performance gap between their Chevrolets.
Jordan Bianchi, a podcaster and journalist, criticized Kyle Busch’s poor performance in the 2024 season, warning the No. 12 squad about the potential ramifications of losing points. Bianchi emphasized the team’s blunders on and off the track, which led to missed scoring opportunities.
Kyle Busch’s 2024 season has been similar to the Sonoma race in that he has been involved in numerous bad occurrences. The team is concentrating on improving their race strategy in order to maximize production. With only 10 races remaining before the playoffs, it will be interesting to see how Busch’s season progresses.
