The Denver Broncos made an intriguing roster move by signing defensive tackle Dondrea Tillman, a dominant player with the UFL champion Birmingham Stallions. Tillman has agreed to a three-year contract with a $10,000 signing bonus after working out for the organization.
The signing has yet to become official because the Birmingham Stallions must first release Tillman from his UFL contract. He also has a pending physical, which is likely to pass but is just another step in the whole process.
Multiple UFL players worked out for various NFL teams this week, and when Tillman’s workout with Denver was announced, the anticipation was that he would be signed. Now there is an agreement in place. Furthermore, the Broncos will need to make a move to make room on their 90-man roster for Tillman.
Tillman played collegiate football at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he recorded 28 sacks and two defensive touchdowns over 48 games. Following his university career, he played one season in the Spring League (TSL), specifically for the Conquerors. Following his TSL career, Tillman was taken in the USFL Draft by the Birmingham Stallions. He played three seasons with the Stallions, two in the USFL and one in the UFL.
