DEAL SEALED: New Orlean Saint Have Reportedly Reach Full Agreement To Bring Back Home A Veteran Player

The New Orleans Saints were busy at the conclusion of the week. They recruited two players to their secondary with the hopes of increasing depth.

Saints sign cornerback Mac McCain and safety Roderic Teamer.
Along with the signings, the Saints waived defensive end Nathan Latu.
McCain is a depth cornerback, and Teamer fills the similar function at safety. The latter has extensive special teams expertise.

Teamer comes home to New Orleans.
He attended Brother Martin High School and lettered three years for the Crusaders. He played both linebacker and safety. He went to Tulane University for his college education. Teamer played four seasons with the Green Wave.

He appeared in 46 games for the Green Wave, making 197 tackles (128 solo), three sacks, three interceptions, 15 passes defensed, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and blocking two kicks. — New Orleans Saints official webpage

Teamer has appeared in forty NFL games. He is 27 years old.

McCain joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2021. The young cornerback signed with the Denver Broncos.

He played two games for the Philadelphia Eagles during his first season. In 2022, the cornerback spent the regular season and the whole postseason on the Eagles’ practice squad. He went to training camp with the Carolina Panthers in 2023.

Neither move is really noteworthy. Having said that, New Orleans has been in need of depth at safety for months. Teamer can help with some of this, but only to a certain extent.
