HUGE COMMITMENT: Miami Football Have Officially Acquire 3-star LB NCAA Most Rated Prospect

On Sunday, three-star prospect Ezekiel Marcelin committed to the Miami football team, becoming the second 2025 linebacker to do so. Four-star linebacker Elijah Melendez has been committed to Miami since December. Marcelin picked Miami following the conclusion of his five official visits to Stanford this weekend.

Marcelin paid official visits to Miami (May 31), Pittsburgh (June 7), and Louisville (June 14) before to his trip to Stanford this weekend. Marcellin made unofficial trips to Penn State in April and May. Marcelin made five unofficial visits to Miami over the last two years prior to his formal visit.

Marcelin is the 450th prospect, 47th LB, and 61st player in Florida’s 2025 class, coming from Miami Central. Marcelin’s vow has committed two Miami Central talents to Miami in the 2025 class. Amari Wallace, a four-star safety, committed to Miami on Thursday.

Marcelin has succeeded at Miami Central over the past two seasons. Marcelin had 188 tackles, 34 tackles for loss, 19 sacks, two pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery during the last two seasons with the Rockets. Miami is starting to build a pipeline via Miami Central.
Miami Central’s 2024 Hurricanes roster features defensive lineman Armondo Blount and Rueben Bain, as well as linebacker Wesley Bissinthe. Marcelin’s major recruiter was linebackers coach Derek Nicholson, with co-defensive coordinator Lance Guidry serving as the second contact, according to On3.

Marcelin is not the biggest LB, standing 6’0 and weighing 190 pounds. That could explain why he’s a three-star prospect. According to Andrew Ivins, 247Sports’ Director of Scouting, Marcelin “likes to thump people” and may not be a three-down LB in college. Miami acquires a productive player who should advance beyond his recruitment rating.
