The Denver Broncos and the rest of the NFL are keeping a close eye on the situation between the Las Vegas Raiders and wide receiver Davante Adams, which has taken a very ugly turn. Adams was the subject of some trade rumours last season, but nothing happened.
These trade rumours have recently heated up, and the Raiders are not inclined to sell Adams. It appears to be the other way around, since Adams has done little to quell rumours of a possible reunion with Aaron Rodgers as a member of the New York Jets, and has even made statements that appear to promote such a move.
We’ll go over some of his recent statements in an interview with Kay Adams about playing with Aaron Rodgers again, but first, let’s talk about Adams’ appearance in the Netflix series Receiver, the follow-up to the amazing Quarterback series from a year ago. The sitcom is created by Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions and revolves around a variety of NFL stars, including Adams, Justin Jefferson, George Kittle, and Deebo Samuel.
Perhaps Manning’s presence in the broadcast will make Adams’ highlighted content even more logical. Any chance of painting the Raiders (and Josh McDaniels) in a negative light…
Be warned: the language is NSFW, but it offers a clear picture of Davante Adams’ desire to leave Las Vegas.
I adore the sequencing right there. Someone cries, “They’re just not getting him the ball,” and the next shot comes from former Raiders (and Broncos) head coach Josh McDaniels. It’s hilarious, and you can practically picture Peyton Manning smiling as he watches the final cuts come together.
The show has obviously depicted the Raiders as the “bad guys” in Davante Adams’ case, and Adams isn’t getting any younger. He plainly understands that he is on a sinking ship, and his recent interaction with Kay Adams is a prime example of this.
There is only so much Davante Adams can say publicly while maintaining his leverage in this position. However, who do we believe is spreading all of these rumours just before the start of the 2024 season?
Garrett Wilson, the Jets’ current standout receiver, has publicly discussed a possible Davante Adams deal. Jets running back Breece Hall recently stated that they are “always talking, always scheming” about a potential Davante Adams-to-New York situation. Aaron Rodgers recently stated that he cannot wait to play with Adams “again”.
Again, who do we believe is perpetrating this? It is not only coming from Aaron Rodgers. Breece Hall mentioned it. These players are always discussing and plotting. It’s becoming increasingly evident that the Raiders’ great receiver is trying to get out of Vegas before the 2024 season begins. He does not want to be on that sinking ship in 2024, which could be Aaron Rodgers’ final year in the NFL.
I guess you should be careful what you wish for.
