DEAL AGREED: Former Saints Fan Favorite WR Is Set to Complete His Sensational return to New Orleans to Finish His NFL Career

The offseason is a time for reuniting. When given the opportunity, many players choose to return to their previous franchise during free agency. A former wideout for the New Orleans Saints recently opened that door during a media opportunity. It’s something the Saints could consider as the preseason approaches.

In a conversation with Nick Underhill and Mike Triplett of NOFNetwork, a former Saints pass catcher made a significant revelation.

Willie Snead wants to return to the Saints.

Snead debuted in the NFL with the Saints in 2015, recording 69 receptions for 984 yards. He was a reliable downfield option for the black and gold. He backed that up with another excellent season in 2016, when he had 72 receptions for 895 yards.

Snead hasn’t had the same level of NFL success since leaving New Orleans, but he’s kept up with the league. Snead has played for the Baltimore Ravens, Las Vegas Raiders, and San Francisco 49ers since leaving the Saints organization.

As a result of his recent stint in San Francisco, he knows the Saints’ new offensive coordinator, Klint Kubiak. The Saints’ play-caller may be interested in him, given his skill set and desire to return.

Snead’s return may be a legitimate option for New Orleans.

There are only nine wideouts on the roster as training camp begins.
Last year, the Saints brought 12 into camp. There could be some additions in the coming weeks, and we’ll see if Snead is one of them. Only time will tell.

Regardless, it’s good to see a former Saints player demonstrating how much New Orleans means to them after playing for them for so long. He’d like to retire like a saint.
