DONE DEAL: San Antonio Spurs Have Officially Confirmed The Signing of Another Top Experienced Star To Replace Sandro Mamukelashvili

The San Antonio Spurs will keep backup big man Sandro Mamukelashvili after the two parties reached an agreement on a new deal, according to sources on Tuesday night.

Free Agent F According to ESPN, Sandro Mamukelashvili has agreed to a one-year, $2.2 million deal to return to the San Antonio Spurs. George Roussakis and Mark Bartelstein from @PrioritySports confirmed the agreement.

San Antonio Spurs are running it back with Sandro Mamukelashvili.
Mamukelashvili, a four-year Seton Hall Pirates player, has spent parts of the last two NBA seasons with the Spurs. After being waived by the Milwaukee Bucks in March 2023, Mamukelashvili was claimed off waivers by the Spurs, who signed him to a one-year contract worth $2.02 million in July of that year. Prior to his latest deal with San Antonio, Mamukelashvili’s $2.7 million qualifying offer from the Spurs was withdrawn, leaving him a free agent.

Mamukelashvili is not projected to play many minutes for the Spurs in the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season, but he should be able to see action behind Victor Wembanyama and Zach Collins at centre.

Mamukelashvili, 25, has 65 career games with the Spurs and averages 6.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. His NBA career began in 2021, when the Indiana Pacers selected him in the second round as the 54th overall choice in that year’s draft class.
