DEAL AGREED: San Antonio Spurs Have Officially Agreed a Deal in Principle With Former Milwaukee Bucks Top Experienced Star

Although he no longer plays for the Milwaukee Bucks, Sandro Mamukelashvili remains a valuable asset to any NBA team. The San Antonio Spurs noted this detail and recently signed him to a new contract.
Mamukelashvili, a Georgian-American professional basketball player, was selected in the second round with the 54th overall choice by the Indiana Pacers in the 2021 NBA Draft. He then signed with the Milwaukee Bucks, where he would play for two seasons from 2021-2023.
During his tenure with Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks, Mamukelashvili also played for their G League club, the Wisconsin Herd. He performed admirably in the 2023 NBA G League Next Up Game and was picked to the roster.

In 2023, the forward signed with the San Antonio Spurs, where he presently plays center/power forward. He’s continued to improve his game, demonstrating his flexibility as a big man who can score, rebound, and assist.

The former Bucks forward showed promise last season, averaging good output in extended playing time near the conclusion of the season. His arrival brings the Spurs’ regular season roster to 14 players, one shy of the maximum.

“Sources tell ESPN that free agent forward Sandro Mamukelashvili has agreed to a one-year, $2.2 million contract to return to the San Antonio Spurs. Woj tweeted, “George Roussakis and Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports confirmed the deal.”

Before proving his talents with San Antonio, the Georgian-American forward played two seasons for Milwaukee. During that time, Mamukelasvili averaged 3.2 points, 34 percent from deep, and 2.1 rebounds.
With the former Bucks forward signed for another year, the Spurs will be able to appreciate his talents more on the court, especially because All-Star point guard Chris Paul will lead the team’s offence. Mamukelashvili is likely to thrive more with Victor Wembanyama and company.
