The Miami Heat’s historic big three of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh is still regarded as one of the greatest NBA trios of all time.
They won two championships and controlled the league for years, but Wade acknowledged that it wasn’t always easy.
Sitting down on “7PM in Brooklyn,” Wade admitted that he had to put his ego aside in order for the big three to emerge.
He also stated that certain powers did not want that version of the team.
Nobody wanted it. My colleagues and family didn’t want it. ‘Bron’s team did not want it. “The game of basketball did not want it to happen,” Wade explained.
Wade considered himself one of the league’s finest players at the time, and he struggled to accept the idea of sharing the spotlight with two others.
Wade was originally skeptical of the idea, despite the fact that James and Bosh are fantastic players.
But after much deliberation, he realized exactly what he wanted.
Wade had already won one title and was anxious for more.
He knew that if he could accept a spot in the big three, the Heat would have incredible success.
It was a sacrifice on his part, but it paid off.
When James and Bosh arrived in Miami, they quickly established themselves as the NBA’s most feared trio.
All these years later, it is evident that bringing these three talents together was a wonderful decision.
It’s shocking to learn of Wade’s early opposition, but Miami fans are glad he overcame it.
