DEAL AGREED: Houston Astros Have Reportedly Hijack New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles Trade For Impressive Pitcher Gem- Bid Reportedly Agreed

The Chicago Cubs intend to sell at the impending trade deadline, and one of their players attracting attention is pitcher Jameson Taillon.

Taillon is in his second year of a four-year, $68 million contract signed with the Cubs in December 2022. The 32-year-old is having one of the greatest seasons of his career, going 7-5 with a 2.96 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in 17 starts.

According to The Athletic, the Houston Astros are interested in trading for Taillon. Houston has multiple injured pitchers. Jose Urquidy, Cristian Javier, and J.P. France are out for the season, while Justin Verlander, Lance McCullers Jr., and Luis Garcia are recovering from injuries.

In short, the Astros could use a reliable arm, which Taillon has been. Taillon has made at least 29 starts in each of the previous three seasons.
In addition to Houston, the Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees, and Boston Red Sox have all been touted as AL teams interested in acquiring Taillon.
