Suspension Served: Officially- NFL Has Officially Lifted The Suspension Of Broncos Key Starter-  Broncos Fans Finally Have Reason To Be Excited Again in 2024

The Denver Broncos have another player back on the field: defensive lineman Eyioma Uwazurike has returned from a gambling suspension.

The NFL suspended Uwazurike for the entire 2023 season for betting on NFL games, including those involving the Broncos, while at the team’s facility.

There was also the possibility that the Arapahoe County District Attorney would file charges against Uwazurike, but 9NEWS reported earlier this week that this would not happen.

With Uwazurike cleared legally, Broncos head coach Sean Payton announced last week that his return was near.

“There’s good news on his front,” Payton stated following practice on Thursday. “The other day, everything in Colorado was dropped.” He had a conference call with the league headquarters, and we fully expect him to join us as soon as possible.

The reinstatement most likely passed through NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s desk. Uwazurike has attended gamblers anonymous sessions, according to 9NEWS and 104.3. Mike Klis, The Fan insider.

In the meanwhile, Payton is happy about the football player the Broncos are bringing back.

“He’s in excellent form. We were overjoyed to hear the news. We anticipate it happening very soon, and that will be an additional player for us. “We’ll be glad to have him back,” Payton stated.

Uwazurike was taken in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft from Iowa State. He only played in eight games as a rookie, but he recorded 17 tackles, two hits, and a blocked field goal.

He’ll need to show Payton and the Broncos that he can still play in order to make the 53-man roster, but his baggage is now in the past, and it’s up to the big boy to perform.

On Monday, the Broncos made another defensive roster change by removing safety Caden Sterns.
