The Miami Heat announced Monday that guard Zyon Pullin will return.
According to a league source, the arrangement is an Exhibit 10 contract, which is effectively a training camp invitation.
After going undrafted out of Florida, the Heat signed Pullin to a two-way deal.
Zyon Pullin will have another opportunity to earn a two-way berth with the Miami Heat during training camp.
Pullin, however, underwhelmed in summer league, averaging 5.3 points, 1.7 assists, and 1.2 turnovers, and lost his starting point guard spot to Isaiah Stevens.
Pullin was waived late last month to create room for Josh Christopher in a two-way position.
Pullin, a 6-foot-4 guard who finished college with an exceptional assist-to-turnover ratio and shot 38% from three, is an intriguing prospect for the Heat. This past season, the 23-year-old established himself as one of college basketball’s most consistent guards, earning First Team All-SEC honours and the conference’s highest assist-to-turnover ratio in more than 20 years.
Pullin joins Stevens on an Exhibit 10 contract. Neither may sign with another team, but they will be invited to training camp in October to compete for one of Miami’s three two-way spots.
Christopher, Keshad Johnson, and Dru Smith now occupy the Heat’s two-way berths.
