After Byron Buxton’s latest injury, the Minnesota Twins waited a few days before placing him on the injured list. This current hip issue is not considered to be serious, but missing time is never easy with our favourite frequently injured centre fielder.
Timeline for Minnesota Twins Byron Buxton has little sense.
Buxton left a game against the Kansas City Royals in the fifth inning on August 12. He promptly entered the clubhouse, complaining of hip pain.
A few days later, he was placed on the IL, effective August 13th. There was hope at the time that he would just need to miss the bare minimum. We are still in wait-and-see mode after seven days. Friday is still a possibility, according to the Twins’ head athletic trainer, although he is unsure of himself.
It’s nice that we can’t rule out a return on Friday at home against the St. Louis Cardinals. It’s not terrific that the Twins won’t provide a deadline. Buxton missed a lot of time in 2021 and 2022 due to hip troubles.
The discomfort stems from previous knee ailments. Minnesota’s trainer discussed further with Phil Miller of the Star Tribune.
“Today [Tuesday] was the first day we had an opportunity to get him on the ground. He’s been hitting in the cage, throwing, and performing outfield drills. Things are moving smoothly…Thursday’s day off allows us to rejoin. I’ll get to speak with him and see how things are going in person.”

Byron Buxton can help the Minnesota Twins down the stretch.
We can’t put him in, of course, but having Rocco write Buxton’s name in the lineup on Friday would be fantastic. The Minnesota Twins have recently struggled with pitching, particularly from the bullpen.

Their lineup has been consistently effective, but having Byron Buxton back would be a huge help. Not only offensively, but defensively as well. Buck has been extremely healthy this season (by his standards).
Buxton, who has a 137 OPS+, is only three games away from playing the second-most games in a season during his 10-year MLB career. Since June 7th, he has been unstoppable. His.325/.388/.675 batting line is amazing.
He also has 15 doubles and 13 home runs in that 46-game span. No matter how good Manuel Margot or Austin Martin play, neither is capable of duplicating that performance.
The Twins are still in playoff contention and hoping to catch the Cleveland Guardians. The sooner Buxton can contribute to that again, the better.
