The Buffalo Bills had a busy 2024 offseason, leaving many supporters wondering if they’ll be ready to compete for a Super Bowl in the near future. The departures of Stefon Diggs, Jordan Poyer, and Micah Hyde did not improve their team’s prospects for 2024.
However, news out of Houston has made this offseason much more difficult.
The Buffalo Bills Get Thrashed on Social Media. After news out of Houston
The Houston Texans formally named WR Stefon Diggs team captain before of the 2024 regular season.
Fans were startled to learn that Diggs had been named captain. They used the occasion to criticize the Bills, noting that Stefon Diggs was traded for the second time in his career.
According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, the Buffalo Bills traded Diggs to the Houston Texans along with a 2024 sixth-round pick (No. 189 overall) and a 2025 fifth-round pick for a 2025 second-round pick. The trade took place back in April.
Diggs eclipsed the 1,100-yard receiving mark in each of his four seasons in Buffalo, including leading the NFL with 127 catches and 1,535 yards in his first year.
Many people assumed Diggs’ career was ended when he was traded to Buffalo, and many more said the same thing when he was traded to the Texans a few months ago. Diggs getting the captain’s badge demonstrated to the league and fans that he believes in what the Texans are doing, and the organization is happy to have him on board.
Something that may not sit well with some Bills fans who believe he is the problem.
