The Denver Broncos have been one of the most talked-about NFL clubs in recent months.
After struggling to get traction in the 2023 season, many questioned what Sean Payton would do to better this club.
They took a gamble on Bo Nix in the draft, and he will now start Week 1 at quarterback.
It seems that the Broncos considered dealing Courtland Sutton, who would have been one less target for Nix.
While Sutton was discussed in trade talks, Payton recently stated that the team did not come close to trading him.
As Payton stated to reporter Andrew Mason, “Probably in the last three months, multiple teams have called about Courtland Sutton.” As for SF, we didn’t get as far as some have claimed.”
Some expected the Broncos would trade Sutton for Brandon Aiyuk.
Aiyuk was apparently dissatisfied with the San Francisco 49ers, but they finally signed him to a lucrative contract deal.
He will now remain with the organization for the foreseeable future, leaving the Broncos without a superstar wide receiver.
The Broncos have several receivers they are confident in, but they do not have a formidable pass-catching corps.
It will be up to Nix to improve the guys around him, which may be a challenging challenge for rookie quarterbacks.
Does he have what it takes to lead the Broncos back to the playoffs, given the personnel around him?
