SAD NEWS AND HUGE SETBACK: Phillies Manager Rob Thomson Confirmed Top Offensive Star Place IL With Kidney Infection

The Philadelphia Phillies placed outfielder Austin Hays on the 10-day disabled list Thursday due to a kidney ailment.

The change is retroactive to Monday.

The Phillies acquired Hays from the Baltimore Orioles in late July, just before the MLB trade deadline. This is his second IL stay since then, having missed two weeks in August due to a hamstring ailment.
