Max Pacioretty signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs this summer, and as previously said, this would be a PTO of sorts.
Pacioretty played his debut game with the squad last night. It was a preseason game against the Ottawa Senators, and the Maple Leafs ultimately lost 6-5. Regardless, it was a successful game for the players looking to make an impact. Of course, Pacioretty happened to be one of those players.
Pacioretty scored a game-high two goals, as evidenced by the highlights below. While several of the goals were feeble against the Senators’ keeper, they still counted. Pacioretty’s performance thrilled Leafs supporters, and it bodes well for his future with the team.
In fact, Elliotte Friedman offered a surprise about Pacioretty’s possible career with the Leafs.
‘I believe [Max Pacioretty’s PTO] is a PTO in name only… Pacioretty will be on this club.’
Pacioretty’s fitness and readiness to play were questioned following a string of injuries. However, he addressed those issues immediately. At this point, Patches appears to be a true leader on a Leafs club desperate for playoff success.
