The majority of supporter signs at NFL games are intended to make fun of the opposition. The keyword is “most.”
During the Buffalo Bills’ Week 3 home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday night, a fan brandished a sign aimed at star quarterback Josh Allen.
“Josh, I recently got married, but I’d leave my husband for you! P.S. He’s right here,” the notice stated in all capital letters, as seen on camera by New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner.
Another supporter was spotted holding a placard that read, “Our Josh Allen made your Josh Allen change his name.”
That was a nod to Jaguars standout linebacker Joshua Hines-Allen, who used to go by Josh Allen, like the Bills star, but changed his name last offseason to honour his maternal family.
Allen, the Bills’ quarterback, was dominant against Jacksonville, completing 23 of 30 passes for 263 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions while adding 44 rushing yards on six tries.
Buffalo improved to 3-0 on the new season, but its next schedule is difficult. It will play three games on the road against the Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, and New York Jets. All three teams are anticipated to compete in a tight AFC.
