The Buffalo Bills defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 47-10 in Week 4 on Monday Night Football, thanks in large part to another outstanding performance from rookie quarterback Josh Allen. Allen was practically flawless in this game (23/30, 263 YDS, 4 TD, 6 CAR, 44 YDS), and Buffalo cruised to victory as a result of his outstanding effort.
After his great game, Allen was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. However, when the Bills revealed the award, they emphasized that Allen had more honours than the next closest players, Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson, which many fans interpreted as a hidden dig at two of his main rivals.
People are always discussing who the best quarterback in the NFL is, and the Bills appear to be giving them a reason to support Allen by pointing out that he is ahead of both Mahomes and Jackson in this category.
It could have been an innocent note from the Bills, but you can bet supporters seized it and ran with it on social media. To genuinely enter the debate alongside Mahomes, Allen must win a Super Bowl, but if he continues to play at this level, that may be a goal he achieves this season.
