OFFICIALLY SEALED: Auburn Tigers Have Officially Confirmed The Commitment Of Four-Star Guard

Simon Walker, the No. 134 overall recruit in the 2025 class, informs 247Sports that he has committed to Auburn.

The 6-foot-5 combo guard from Huntsville, Alabama, chose Auburn over his other two finalists, Virginia Tech and Iowa, according to 247Sports.

“I have really been able to grow a relationship with the coaching staff over the last couple of years, and it’s a little bit closer to home,” Walker said when asked why he chose Auburn. “My parents are a significant part of why I do what I do, and having them come to watch me means a lot to me. So, yeah, simply the bond with the coaching staff, the fit in the program, and the general environment and culture that Auburn provides was extremely appealing.”

Walker paid official visits to all three of his finalists, but his experience on Auburn’s campus confirmed that the program was everything he was looking for.

“Just the environment, the fanbase, the energy, and the good vibes that Auburn has,” he replied when asked what struck out to him on campus. “Everyone appreciates being down there and the individuals that are present. People do not leave Auburn. They want to stay, create relationships, and be able to call that area home, which appealed to me much.”
Walker is Bruce Pearl’s first pledge in his 2025 recruiting class, bringing a high IQ, high energy, and skilled guard who can drill bullets from deep.

“Just a guy that’s going to make winning plays,” Walker said of what he’ll contribute to Auburn. “I’m going to be an incredible teammate. I will do whatever it takes for my team to win, and I will be able to maintain the amazing culture that they have going on.”

Adam Finkelstein, Director of Scouting for 247Sports, provided the following scouting report on Walker:

Walker is a competent, gritty, and intelligent guard with adequate positional size and strength. He’s a shot-maker who can make both deep threes beyond the arc and challenging pull-ups off the dribble. He’s every bit of a 6-foot-4, with the type of powerful body that has clearly been earned in the gym. He’s also tough and competitive, with a lot of intangibles, like a mature approach to the game and a high basketball IQ. He moves effectively without the ball, is a shooter who can be run off screens in the half-court, and is a quick and aggressive cutter.
