It is unusual for an NFL player’s wife to openly support her husband’s rival team. However, one Miami Dolphins player is an exception. The Miami Dolphins are off to a 1-2 start to the 2024 NFL season, despite having an extremely excellent squad. Coming into the year with postseason aspirations, their hopes were dashed in Week 2 with a 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills. In the game, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered his fourth concussion in five seasons. With Tagovailoa out until at least October 27, Miami plans to start Tyler Huntley in Week 4 against the Tennessee Titans on “Monday Night Football.” The Bills, Miami’s AFC East rivals, were also set to play a primetime national televised game in Week 4. They competed against the Baltimore Ravens on “Sunday Night Football.”
Rachel Bush, the wife of Dolphins’ safety Jordan Poyer, was watching the game. Following the Ravens’ 35-10 triumph, she told X that she’s “still a Bills fan.” Poyer, who is now in his 13th season in the NFL, spent seven years with Buffalo before signing a one-year contract with Miami this offseason. “I am still a Bills fan,” Bush wrote. “After 7 years in Buffalo, I’ve seen my husband and that team become what they are today (very good). I also believe in the Dolphins, who are loaded with potential and excited for tomorrow. Week to week league–we’ll see who’s where by playoff time!”
Bush is not only renowned as Poyer’s wife. She’s created a reputation for herself through her modelling profession and 4.1 million Instagram followers. Poyer was chosen a first-team All-Pro in 2021, a Pro Bowler in 2022, and ranked No. 57 in the NFL’s top 100 players in 2023. Poyer has also recorded 741 tackles, 12 sacks, 54 passes defended, and 24 interceptions.
