Bills learn from their mistakes.

McDermott praised the Ravens following the loss, saying they came prepared with a better gameplan. The Bills’ head coach promised to learn from his team’s failures.

“They outcoached us, and we’ve got to identify the problems and get them fixed,” she said.

McDermott also focused on the Ravens’ opening play from scrimmage, an 87-yard touchdown run by running back Derrick Henry. The Bills’ head coach credited the Ravens with devising an effective play.

“Schemed up well, yes, because they executed and we really didn’t even touch the running back,” McDermott told reporters. “They used what we call ‘wham’, which is one of our three techniques there. We have to be in a better situation. I know we’ve done that previously, so it’s one of the options.”
McDermott also discussed another game-changing play that occurred against the Bills. After narrowing the deficit to 21-10, the Bills drove with a trick play that began with a straight snap to wide receiver Curtis Samuel. After pitching to Allen, Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy stripped the ball, and the Ravens recovered the fumble.

The Bills’ head coach later said that he and offensive coordinator Joe Brady will learn from their blunder.

“That is something Joe and I will explore in depth. I am sure he wants that call back. I do as well. “We’ll learn from that and move on,” he said.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Allen said he didn’t want to linger on the loss and was certain they’d be able to move on.

“I think the guys that make up this locker room understand who we are, what we are,” Allen told reporters. “We will not allow this avalanche happen. The guys in this building are clever. The players have played a lot of football in their careers, so they understand how an NFL season goes. “This will happen from time to time.”

Allen was very candid about the team’s performance.

“They came out with urgency and whooped our butt,” says Allen. “The game wasn’t all horrible. I don’t want us to leave this thinking we’re the worst. A lot to learn from. I’m pleased this happened early in the season so we can fix it.”

The Bills next face the Houston Texans and wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Despite Sunday’s setback, the Bills will remain atop the AFC East at 3-1.
