On Monday night, Lions quarterback Jared Goff performed flawlessly in every manner. However, Lions coach Dan Campbell fell short in one area.
Campbell failed to award Goff a game ball following his flawless 18-for-18 performance, which included two touchdown throws and one touchdown reception.
“I just gave the game ball to somebody else, so I feel awful,” Campbell remarked, according to ESPN.com’s Eric Woodyard. “I knew he played a great game. I had not realized he was perfect.
I didn’t realize he was 18-for-18, but I knew he played well. You felt it. “He really found his rhythm early.”
The game balls were given to receiver Jameson Williams and safety Kerby Joseph.
Goff wasn’t upset by it. “That’s okay,” Goff said. “We’ll see. Maybe he’ll make it up, but that’s fine. “I’m just happy we won.”
Goff could have made a joke about it, adding, “If he does it again, I’ll just post his address on social media.”
