Wim Hof’s daughter has launched a furious defence of the TV ‘Ice Man’ after his ex-girlfriend accused him of being a drunken abuser.
The production of a British film on 65-year-old wellness expert Hof’s life has been temporarily delayed after his ex-partner Caroline made stunning charges against him.
Hof’s daughter Laura from a previous relationship, on the other hand, has backed her father and has fiercely refuted Caroline’s charges.
Hof, whose cold exposure training of celebrities served as the foundation for the BBC show Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof in 2022, hosted by Holly Willoughby and Lee Mack, denies the severe charges.
Laura took to Instagram to accuse her estranged stepmother of fabricating false charges in Holland’s national newspaper, the Volksrant.
Laura claimed Caroline had thrown her out of the house 23 years before.
She said that, while her father had never ‘raised a finger’ at her, he had been denied his parental rights to see her half-brother Noah for many years.
Her statement went on to say, “My dad has never, ever raised a finger about me or Caroline!” Caroline abused me physically twice and verbally on a regular basis.Caroline kicked me out of the house and attempted to obstruct me and my father several times.
Caroline has denied Noah, my brother, and my father’s rights for years.
‘Caroline is quite manipulative.’
A spokeswoman for the London-based company behind the Hof biography said: ‘Genesius Pictures can confirm that given to the severity of the claims, this movie, which was just in development and had not began filming, is on hold.’
The production firm had stated that The Iceman, starring Joseph Fiennes as the Dutch motivational speaker, would be ‘inspiring’,’moving’, and ‘at times extremely humorous’. The project’s promotional materials were taken from the website yesterday.
Caroline called Volkskrant and spoke up about how she and her family were forced to suffer his aggressive behaviour as his celebrity developed.
The extreme athlete disputes these charges.
His Wim Hof method, known for its use of cold showers and breathing exercises, has made him wealthy and introduced him to celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and Jim Carrey.
Caroline was in a 10-year relationship with Hof, but she and her family haven’t seen him in 11 years. They have a 21-year-old son named Noah.
They, along with her two other children from a previous marriage, Christiaan and Nathalie, were horrified by the notion of a film honouring a guy who, she claims, traumatized them.
“For them, the name Wim Hof is synonymous with years of aggression, physical violence, humiliation, and manipulation,” the Volkskrant wrote.
‘They know the Iceman, as Hof refers to himself, as a mean alcoholic with explosive personality and illusions of grandeur. Someone about whom they had to be always watchful.’
Hof told the publication, ‘It is evident that she is on a warpath and tries to make everything look different than it was.
‘Caroline understood how to get under my skin,’ he admitted while answering 44 questions from the publication. He said, “I started drinking because of her.”
