It certainly appear that the idea of dealing Adams out of Las Vegas has a personal component. There’s nothing new about star players attempting to get out of poor situations, and the Raiders’ offence is nothing short of terrible, but Pierce appeared to gain the trust of the team’s senior brass last year. Throughout the season, Adams expressed his support for the Raiders keeping Pierce as head coach.
After Pierce took over the Raiders on Halloween 2023, they finished 8-9, one win away from the AFC playoffs. Adams praised Pierce for his honesty and straightforward approach to interacting with athletes.
