BREAKING: Raiders Top Player Davante Adams Reveals Raiders “Biggest Issue” That led To His Trade Request

Davante Adams, a star wide receiver, confirmed rumours that he had grown dissatisfied with the Las Vegas Raiders by requesting a trade. While this was not unforeseen, it added to the Raiders’ difficult season, as they had only won two of their first five games combined. Losing Adams might hurt the team’s already sluggish offence, which ranks in the bottom half of the league.

There have been rumours that Adams sought a trade to join with New York Jets star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. During their time with the Green Bay Packers, the two achieved great success, with Adams twice becoming the NFL’s receiving touchdown leader. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Adams’ desire to leave Las Vegas was largely motivated by the opportunity to play alongside a competent signal-caller.

“My sense is the lack of a solution at the quarterback position was a factor in his decision-making,” Fowler reported. “He has been there two-plus seasons and there’s no clear solution.”I can’t speak for Adams, but after asking around, some others in the building felt that was a major concern for him.” Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew have alternated as quarterback for the Raiders this season.

The Packers traded Adams, 31, to the Raiders in 2022 for draft picks. He then got a five-year, $141.25 million contract, the largest ever for a wide receiver at the time. However, with the Raiders still struggling, the three-time All-Pro First Team member has grown disenchanted. However, Fowler pointed out that moving Adams will not be easy.

“The Raiders have told at least one team involved in a potential trade they don’t plan to front any of the bill on his $16.89 million salary,” Fowler told reporters. “Perhaps negotiations change that, but that has been the perceived stance from Las Vegas.” The Jets and the New Orleans Saints are allegedly the frontrunners to sign Adams, who is still recovering from a hamstring ailment.
