Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports outlined how Za’Darius Smith of the Cleveland Browns could end up back in Green Bay:
Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers have had a strong start to 2024. So far, they are 4-2 and in the midst of the NFC North race after six games. This week, Green Bay will look to improve to 5-2 by hosting the 5-1 Texans at Lambeau Field.
Prior to the clash, Green Bay had already added a speedster to its offence. Could Green Bay be looking to acquire a defensive leader?

Trade target: Za’Darius Smith, EDGE, Cleveland Browns.
This season, the Packers are 20th in the NFL in pressure rate, so while the team appears to be on track for a postseason run, they may benefit from a bump in that area. Perhaps that will come from an old friend, Za’Darius Smith.
The Cleveland Browns have already traded Amari Cooper, which could signal the end of the season. If that’s the case, Smith, who has a contract until 2025, could also be expendable.
The 32-year-old played three seasons with the Packers from 2019 to 2021, making the Pro Bowl twice during that time, so there is some familiarity here.
