GOOD NEWS: Raiders Have Officially Sign Veteran WR Who Holds Unique NFL Record To Replace Davante Adams’ Roster Spot

With Davante Adams gone, the Las Vegas Raiders have a wide receiver vacancy that is unlikely to be addressed this season. Adams is one of the top wide receivers in the NFL, thus Las Vegas will struggle to find a suitable replacement.

For the time being, they want to give a guy from the practice squad a chance. The Raiders have signed Alex Bachman to the active roster.
Bachman has been in the NFL since 2019, appearing in seven games. However, this is the first time he has been signed to an active NFL roster. He claims that no other player has ever spent more time on a practice team.

“6 years of effort, heartache, and patience. The longest-tenured Psquad player of all time, and I’ll wear it as a badge of honour. Just keep working. Maintain your unwavering commitment. “Thank you, Father,” Bachman wrote on X.

Most athletes either leave the NFL or get a shot to be on an active roster before spending six years on the practice squad. Bachman has the most important opportunity of his career, and the Raiders need a wide receiver to step up. It’s unclear what role he’ll play, but he did make three catches against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6.

Raiders expecting big things in 2024 from 2nd year WR Tre Tucker

Tre Tucker is Ready to Step Up

With Adams gone, wide receivers lower on the depth chart will have a tremendous opportunity, but the Raiders’ top wide receivers must step up. Tre Tucker is the lone healthy starting wide receiver currently, but he was shut out against the Steelers.

He has game-breaking speed, but the Raiders lack a quarterback capable of throwing the ball deep. Tucker must be able to open up on shorter and intermediate routes. He thinks he’s ready to step up.

“I always tell my coaches: ‘It’s not what you do, it’s the people you get to do it with,’ and he was one of those guys,” Tucker told reporters this week. “He has taught me a lot. That was one of the things I told him after our conversation: ‘I appreciate you.’ I feel ready to take the next step.”

The Raiders may need to be aggressive in their search for a wide receiver this offseason, but if Tucker emerges as an impact player, they may be able to prioritize other needs.

“It’s definitely exciting,” Tucker remarked of the possibility. “With [Adams] gone, you obviously play a few more snaps, and you might face a corner No. 1 or No. 2.”

“But I feel like I’m ready, and I’m not taking that lightly.”

Raiders Offence Could be in Trouble.

Even with Adams participating in three games, the Raiders’ offence has struggled this season. They are scoring 18.2 points per game, ranking 27th in the NFL.

Losing Adams will only make matters worse, especially with Jakobi Meyers out with an ankle injury. If the Raiders want to turn their season around, they may need to consider adding more wide receivers. If they continue to lose, they might as well accept what they have and hope for a high draft pick in 2025.
