The West Virginia Mountaineers are 3-4 this season in college football. They have underperformed in the BIG12 Conference, and it is possible that they may replace head coach Neal Brown at the end of the 2024 college football season.
If they fire him, there may be some interesting names out there. Former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban is one of the possible candidates.
Saturdayblitz.com Writer Peter Bartell believes Nick Saban might coach the West Virginia Mountaineers in some capacity by 2025.
In 2024, Saban is enjoying his retirement, but there is a chance he will return to coaching in 2025. According to Saturdayblitz.com’s Peter Bartell, Saban might coach West Virginia again in 2025. Bartell stated:
“Don’t be surprised if Saban coaches for the West Virginia Mountaineers in 2025. While he may not be a head coach, being an on-field assistant with a direct impact on the squad is not completely out of the question for him.”
Nick Saban hails from Fairmont, West Virginia. It would be interesting to see him lead the West Virginia Mountaineers’ staff in 2025.
Fans are stunned by this report.
This is nothing but wishful thinking. Nick Saban despises the current state of college football, with NIL and the transfer portal; he’s perfectly content on gameday, where he doesn’t have to deal with it. He is not returning to coaching and will not accept a position as an assistant.
Nick Saban is 72 years old and will turn 73 years old on October 31. It seems unlikely that he will come out of retirement. However, if Saban were to coach West Virginia, it would be interesting to watch how soon he could turn the football program around.
