HONEST AND SHOCKING APPEAL: Las Vegas Raiders’ HC Antonio Pierce Has Sent an Honest Request and Appeal Raiders Front Office Amid Trade Deadline Following Threats On His Job Security

Over the last two weeks, struggling teams have traded key players, including the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders faced a different situation with wide receiver Davante Adams’ trade request, but if they fall to 2-6 on Sunday, general manager Tom Telesco may explore trading players for draft capital.

Telesco does not have a track record of making aggressive deals. So he could maintain the status quo while keeping fans guessing about what’s in store for the upcoming season.

However, head coach Antonio Pierce has rejected the idea of tanking at this point in the season, indicating that the team’s focus has not moved to an emphasis on development rather than winning games. With that approach, he is expected to maximize the potential of a flawed roster and field a competitive team.

Before reevaluating the franchise’s short-term prognosis for the 2025 offseason, the Raiders’ management team may want to see how the players react to Pierce’s coaching approach when the team is far from playoff contention.

Why is a fire sale a good indicator for Antonio Pierce’s job security?
The Raiders’ desire to transfer significant roster assets would indicate that the organization has entered rebuild mode, with an emphasis on developing younger players for the long term future.

As a result of that attitude, Pierce would have to deploy the next-man-up cliche, despite the fact that without its best players, the team would be unable to compete against playoff-caliber opponents as the schedule became more difficult in the second part of the season.

After Sunday, the Raiders must travel to Cincinnati to face the Bengals before their bye week, followed by the Miami Dolphins, who will most likely have Tua Tagovailoa back at quarterback. They’ll play the Kansas City Chiefs at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on their home turf, and the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football. Second-division opponents for Las Vegas will be the Denver Broncos, who defeated them by 16 points a few weeks ago, and the Los Angeles Chargers.

With that schedule over the next two months, the Raiders will struggle to win with their current roster. If they change their starting lineup on both sides of the ball, Pierce should not be held solely responsible for a team that collapses. In that case, he may be safe in assuming that the squad requires a complete roster overhaul.

Should Raiders Head Coach Antonio Pierce Be On The Hot Seat?

Having said that, who could the Raiders deal before the November 5 deadline?

Who may generate interest on the trading block?

Typically, clubs who trade experienced players for draft capital aim to transfer larger contracts or expiring agreements that they do not intend to renew in the summer. Remember that these players must also generate interest on the trade market.

Defensive end Maxx Crosby is the Raiders’ top roster player. He does not want to leave Las Vegas, therefore the team should build around him.

Aside from Christian Wilkins, who got a four-year, $110 million contract this offseason, and Crosby, Telesco would most certainly consider offers for any of the remaining veterans on the squad.

Raiders LB Divine Deablo drops weight, down to 223 pounds

Based on previous wide receiver market activity, Jakobi Meyers could be of interest to teams looking for an offensive boost in the aerial attack. He isn’t a top receiver, but the 27-year-old has at least 67 catches and 804 receiving yards in three straight seasons.

Clubs would most likely look into left tackle Kolton Miller as well. He plays a high-priced position that is difficult to fill halfway through the season, and he has performed admirably for the majority of his seven seasons with the Raiders.

Miller struggled in September after shoulder surgery, but he recovered and hasn’t allowed a sack in October, according to Pro Football Focus.

The Raiders may also consider moving slot cornerback Nate Hobbs or safety Tre’von Moehrig if they do not intend to re-sign them. Hobbs and Moehrig have contracts that will expire during the 2025 offseason.

Hobbs has struggled to remain on the field at times, but he has played in every game this season and is the most flexible player in the secondary, able to line up in the slot or on the outside.

Telesco may be more ready to part ways with Moehrig, who has experienced ups and downs over the course of four seasons. He’s currently going through a terrible run, allowing a 115.4 passer rating in coverage. He is still only 25 years old and has room to grow.

Linebacker Divine Deablo, like Hobbs and Moehrig, will have his contract expire in 2025. His injury history has most certainly slowed his growth, but he has performed well in the previous two weeks, registering 10 tackles, two for loss, and a sack since returning from an oblique injury.

If Telesco wants to make a few changes before the deadline, keep an eye on Miller, Hobbs, Moehrig, and Deablo, as playoff-caliber clubs attempt to compensate for injuries and shore up roster gaps.

Also, an active seller’s stance could indicate that Pierce will be given at least another year as the franchise attempts to develop younger players in 2024 and rebuild the roster in 2025.
