Jared Goff, the Detroit Lions quarterback, is now commenting on the newest Williams incident.
Jared Goff Discusses Jameson Williams
During a Wednesday, October 30 press conference, Goff was questioned about Williams’ most recent occurrence and his thoughts on it.
“He is fine.” “We’re fine,” Goff remarked.
Goff stated that he has “said nothing to him.”
The Detroit Lions’ head coach also seemed to have Williams’ back.
“I judge people based on what’s in their hearts, and I know what this kid’s made of, and he’s worth hanging out with,” Campbell stated in a news conference on Wednesday when questioned about the incident. “So, he’s going to learn from this, he’s going to grow, he’ll be better for all of this.”
Regarding the progress of the investigation into Williams, the Detroit Police Department sent a statement to the Detroit News on Tuesday, October 29, stating, “This investigation continues to evolve, and new information has emerged that we are actively addressing.” We take every investigation seriously, especially when new complaints and facts arise, and we are dedicated to acting quickly and transparently. Once new information is confirmed, we make the required changes to our decision-making process. To be clear, no one in the City of Detroit is above the law. Anyone who commits a crime, regardless of position or prestige, shall face the consequences.
Jameson Williams Must ‘Reward Lions’ Faith’ in Him
In an October 31 essay on Williams’ newest struggles, Max DeMara of SideLion Report argues that Williams must “wake up fast” to achieve his potential and “reward Lions’ faith” in him.
“Lions head coach Dan Campbell is loyal to his players, and assuming they meet him halfway he will do whatever it takes to stand up for them,” the author said.
DeMara continued, “At this point, Campbell is used to defending Williams, always vouching for his ability and character when it’s reasonable for supporters to question both given the prevalence of concerns. With seasoned pros like Amon-Ra St. Brown and Kalif Raymond sharing the same receiver room, the contrast is becoming more obvious.”
With that thought in mind, “It’s time for Williams to mature and reward the faith Campbell has shown, to say nothing of the city, fans and franchise that have stuck with him through some early hiccups,” according to DeMara. “Otherwise, this situation will ultimately be a huge waste of talent and time.” “Only Williams can decide what happens next.”
