The players are not happy after the Washington Commanders lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 28-27 at Northwest Stadium, their third defeat of the season. The Commanders had a 10-point lead in the second half, but Russell Wilson and the Pittsburgh offense grabbed it late with a score from Mike Williams, and the Commanders were unable to maintain the momentum. After such a heartbreaking loss, quarterback Jayden Daniels shared how the locker room is feeling.
Daniels remarked, “I mean, it stings,” “The lads’ enthusiasm for victories and defeats is evident. It matters to them, it has meaning. I learned from it that everyone is upset, it’s important to them, there’s nothing we can do about it, and we should go on to the next issue.”
Daniels agreed with head coach Dan Quinn when he said that although the loss hurts, particularly because of Washington’s contentious encroachment play that ended the game, his team will learn a valuable lesson because they had their chances to raise the stakes against the Steelers, but they were unable to do so.
The Commanders’ three-game winning streak is ended by the defeat, and the “good” thing about it might be that Washington learned how to close games out. Related: Lately, Steelers Edge Commanders Mike Williams, TD Quinn advocated for the “24-hour rule,” which requires his squad to analyze the game and then move on and concentrate on the Philadelphia Eagles, who will be playing next Thursday night.
