Villano expects Profar to re-sign with the Padres, while Spotrac predicts a two-year, $25 million contract. “Profar has been through a lot, and part of it is his fault. He finally found a place to call home, and he has already signed a lease after departing once,” Villano stated.

San Diego has to recruit new talent in a significant way without breaking the pocketbook. Profar’s return as a 3.0-plus WAR player would be exactly what the squad needed.
