The Las Vegas Raiders need a future quarterback, and they could use one for the remainder of the 2024 season.
Suddenly, there is a quarterback who will shortly become available. On Friday, the New York Giants released quarterback Daniel Jones. He will be placed on waivers and will most likely clear due to his hefty salary. He is anticipated to become a free agent on Monday afternoon and be available to sign anyplace.
Silver Mining: QB in redraft.
Jones was benched as the Giants’ starter this week and requested his release.
Jones may be considered an upgrade over the Raiders’ existing quarterbacks, Gardner Minshew, Desmond Ridder, and Aidan O’Connell, who is due to return from injured reserve next week.
Jones might be a cheap alternative to play the rest of the season for the 2-8 Raiders, and they could consider him as a potential option in 2025.
Of course, Jones, 27, has battled this season and in other portions of his six-year NFL career. Jones has thrown for 2,070 yards, eight touchdowns, and seven interceptions this season, while completing 63.3 percent of his passes.
What are your thoughts on Jones joining the Silver and Black?
