HUGE DEMANDS: Former Falcons QB and Some Top Falcon Players Has Made a Huge Request to Replace or Start Michael Penix Jr. Over Kirk Cousins Due To….

Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons are reeling after losing two straight games. Losses to the New Orleans Saints and Denver Broncos before their bye week left a foul taste in their mouth.

Despite leading the Falcons to six wins and first place in the NFC South, former Falcons quarterback Kurt Benkert is skeptical about current quarterback Kirk Cousins. He believes his previous team can only make the playoffs if their rookie quarterback leads the way.

Kurt Benkert feels the Falcons should start Michael Penix Jr.

After signing Kirk Cousins and selecting Michael Penix Jr., we all knew the Falcons would face quarterback controversy. Fans and journalists would abandon ship at the first indication of crisis.

Kurt Benkert, who played for the Dirty Birds from 2018 to 2020, is among those who have reservations about Cousins.

If you agree with him, I have some terrible news for you: Michael Penix Jr. will not be starting until there is an injury or a meaningless late-season game.

The difficulty with this evaluation is that Kirk Cousins gives you the best chance to win now and in the future. Despite his dismal overall record, he played consistently during the postseason. You also have to take his record with a grain of salt because he is surrounded by an entirely new crew.

I’m not suggesting this is the cause for his stance on Cousins, but it’s worth remembering that Benkert grew up and eventually played for the Packers. The Packers were Cousins’ division foe for a long time, and we all know how powerful fans can be in the NFL.

The whole Atlanta Falcons roster has struggled over the last few weeks. The quarterback should not take all of the blame. He hasn’t been at his best the last two games, nor has the offensive line or defence.

Raheem Morris is unlikely to make significant changes at quarterback.
