The Detroit Lions are doing everything they can to bolster their defence for the stretch run. The Lions lost linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez for the season during their Thanksgiving Day victory over the Chicago Bears, and a pair of defensive linemen suffered minor injuries.
On Friday, the Lions signed linebacker Kwon Alexander. On Sunday, it was revealed that they had also signed safety Jamal Adams, who began the season with the Tennessee Titans.
Adams was a Pro Bowler from 2018 to 2020, earning first-team All-Pro and second-team All-Pro honours. The Jets moved him to the Seattle Seahawks for several draft picks prior to the 2020 season, and he appeared in 12 games in each of his first two seasons in Seattle, but has been troubled by injuries. He was released in March before signing with the Titans this summer. He played in only three games for Tennessee this season before requesting his release in October.
According to Adam Schefter, Adams desired a position with a contender. The way Detroit’s injuries are mounting up, it’s a real possibility. The concern is whether he will be able to stay healthy if he does take the field.
Adams has appeared in one playoff game during his career.
