“Everyone Wants To Be Part of a Winning Team” Juan Soto’s Agent Scott Boras Provides Massive Update on Superstar’s Free Agency Agreement With LA Dodgers After a Closed Meeting Last Night

Juan Soto’s free agency remains the biggest subject of the 2024 offseason, and on Tuesday, his representative, Scott Boras, presented a comprehensive update on client superstar’s plans.

Boras informed J.P. Hoornstra of Newsweek Sports that Soto had “begun the process of eliminating teams.” He also stated that his signing was not imminent.

Many baseball insiders have suggested that Soto may sign before the Winter Meetings, which conclude next Monday in Dallas. While it is still a possibility, Soto and Boras will not rush to make a decision. However, it is a significant step that teams are beginning to be removed.

The Dodgers are one of six teams who have been prominently linked to Soto, but they appear to be a long shot compared to the others. The New York Mets, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, and Toronto Blue Jays all appear to be making serious attempts to sign Soto. The Philadelphia Phillies are also frequently mentioned.

Soto is largely expected to sign a contract worth more than $600 million, possibly even $700 million. Soto is coming off a 2024 season in which he hit.288/.419/.569 with a career-high 41 home runs and 109 RBI. He made his fourth All-Star team and finished third in the American League MVP voting, trailing only teammate Aaron Judge and Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr.

While the Dodgers have a definite need in the outfield, it appears that they will attempt to keep Teoscar Hernández, who will cost a fraction of the price of the 26-year-old Soto. However, until the Dodgers are officially eliminated, Andrew Friedman and his team can never be counted out of making an impact.
