OFFICIAL DECISION MADE: Padres All-Star Jurickson Profar Has Officially Announced His Decision Amidst His Free Agency

The free agency dominoes are likely to fall after superstar slugger Juan Soto makes his long-anticipated decision. After Soto is off the board, the San Diego Padres’ past 2024 All-Star outfielder Jurickson Profar may make his own anticipated decision.

Padres: Jurickson Profar may make his FA decision after December 9.
According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, Soto’s decision will have a ripple effect on the majority of outfielders on the open market, including Profar.

Curacaoan talent had a professional year in 2024. Profar set career highs with 24 home runs, 94 runs, 85 RBIs, and ten stolen bases. The same can be said about his.280 batting average,.380 on-base percentage, and.839 OPS.
Padres: Profar is slated for 30 times more in his next deal.
Given that he was at his best across the board last season, the 31-year-old is expected to earn significantly more than the $1 million he received over one year on the last contract he signed with the Padres on February 12, according to the Associated Press. His next contract is expected to pay him more than $30 million, with some predicting $40 million.

Profar has stated a desire to stay in San Diego, but with a strong market of bidders looking to enhance their rosters for a World Series run in 2025, another team might swoop in and take the 2024 Silver Slugger Award winner if the Padres don’t act quickly enough.
