The Green Bay Packers are prepared for a big game on Sunday Night Football against the NFC West-leading Seattle Seahawks. At 9-4, the Packers are attempting to improve their Wild Card standing after a 34-31 loss to the Detroit Lions effectively eliminated them from winning the NFC North. The Seahawks (8-5) have a one-game lead over the 7-6 Los Angeles Rams in their division.
NFL teams make roster adjustments every week. Most of these changes are minor and often concern their practice squads. Such was the case today, when the Packers welcomed back a familiar face.
According to the Packers’ website, they have signed offensive guard Michael Jordan to their practice squad. Jordan previously served on the Packers’ practice squad in 2023. However, he spent the most of the season with the New England Patriots, where he started 11 games. He was released on December 3.
“The Green Bay Packers added OL Michael Jordan to the practice squad and released T Spencer Rolland off it. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the deals Monday.
Jordan was drafted fourth overall by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2019 NFL Draft before signing with Green Bay in 2023. In two seasons with the Bengals, he appeared in 27 games, 19 of which were starts.
The Green Bay Packers have signed Michael Jordan to their practice squad.
After being cut following training camp in 2021, Jordan joined with the Carolina Panthers. He spent two seasons there, participating in 28 games, ten of which were starts.
After training camp in 2023, the Panthers released Jordan. He was quickly picked up by the Packers, who kept him on the practice squad throughout the season.
Instead of re-signing with Green Bay, Jordan chose free agency and joined the Patriots. Even though he failed not make the 53-man roster, he was signed to the practice squad and was frequently called up for games. His 11 starts this season are a career high.
