Auburn University has extended its first SEC offer to Travis Burgess, a 2026 dual-threat quarterback from Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia. Standing at 6’5″ and weighing 200 pounds, Burgess led Grayson to a 6A state championship in 2024, completing 60% of his passes for 2,255 yards and 23 touchdowns, while also rushing for 596 yards and four scores.
In addition to Auburn, Burgess holds offers from Arizona State, Boston College, Central Michigan, Florida Atlantic, Kent State, Miami (OH), and Pittsburgh.
Burgess has expressed interest in visiting several schools, including Auburn, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, and Arizona State. He plans to attend Auburn’s Junior Day, though the specific date has not been confirmed.
Beyond football, Burgess is a two-sport athlete, contributing to Grayson’s nationally ranked basketball team. This offseason, he aims to enhance his athleticism by improving his footwork, speed, and off-platform throws, and by adding weight to his frame.
Burgess’s combination of size, arm strength, and mobility makes him a notable prospect in the 2026 recruiting class. His recent state championship performance has garnered increased attention from college programs nationwide.
