HUGE BLOW: Kentucky Reportedly Loses Promising 5- Star Freshman WR to Transfer Portal

According to reports, Kentucky lost a receiver corps member to the transfer portal on Saturday.

According to Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer of 247Sports, Hardley Gilmore, a wide receiver ranked in the top 100 of the class of 2024, chose to use the portal on Saturday. The winter portal session concludes on Saturday.

The Pahokee, Florida, native made his debut for Mark Stoops’ team right away, participating in seven games and hauling in six receptions for 153 yards. He scored his first touchdown as a player in a 48–6 victory over Murray State.

Kentucky finished just 4-8 in 2024, which was a terribly dismal season. Before those victories were eventually revoked following an NCAA inquiry, this squad had a 10-win record not long ago—in 2021, to be exact.

Although Gilmore’s final destination is unknown, the Wildcats’ wide receiver room will look very different in 2025 because Barion Brown is now at LSU and star receiver Dane Key transferred to Nebraska. Kendrick Law (Alabama) and J.J. Hester (Oklahoma) are new additions, while Jay Maclin is still with the team and could play a bigger part.

The offense’s modifications don’t end there: The fourth stop of a collegiate career that started in 2019, Zach Calzada is an incoming transfer at quarterback.
