“He Will Be Our Future Hall Of Fame Pitcher” – SD Padres Have Officially Agreed a Blockbuster Trade To $130 Million MLB Super Star Pitcher To Replace Dylan Cease

The roster of the San Diego Padres has to be adjusted. The Los Angeles Dodgers are so good and getting better all the time, not because they’re bad. San Diego cannot anticipate different outcomes in 2025 by using the same roster. It has been reported that San Diego is considering trade offers for Dylan Cease, their ace.

If this is accurate, Cease will probably be traded by the Padres once the best free agents sign this winter. San Diego would then have a slot in the rotation to add a veteran at a reasonable cost. The Padres will sign Max Scherzer in free agency, according to a recent forecast made by R.J. Anderson of CBS Sports. However, Anderson acknowledged that this prediction was more of a wild guess. Schertzer stated unequivocally that he plans to pitch in 2025. However, Anderson said that there hasn’t been much discussion about him throughout the winter, indicating that his market might not pick up steam until Flaherty and Sasaki’s issues are settled. “I anticipate that he will sign with one of the contenders prior to spring training; the composition of such team will depend on the outcome of the aforementioned free agents.

A swing in the dark is presented here. Of course, Scherzer is not the same person he once was. However, there is still some gas left in the 40-year-old’s tank. Due to injuries, he only made nine starts in 2024, making it difficult to evaluate his performance. But for the Texas Rangers, he had a 3.95 ERA, 4.18 FIP, and 1.15 WHIP in his nine starts. It wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if the Padres could sign Scherzer for almost nothing and move Cease for a significant return.
