GOOD NEWS: New York Yankees Have Officially Trade To Land $49 Million Gold Glove Third Baseman

At third base, the New York Yankees are looking for solutions. Oswaldo Cabrera, Jazz Chisholm, and D.J. LeMahieu are currently competing for the third base position. Since none of them can play the hot corner every day, the platoon would probably be divided three ways. Alex Bregman has been linked to the Yankees, but it’s unclear if he will sign with them.

Ke'Bryan Hayes injury sheds light on his massive struggles with Pirates in 2024

Is a National League Central Gold Glove third baseman their solution? Ke’Bryan Hayes’ career with the Pittsburgh Pirates got off to a great start. He batted really well when he first joined the team in the shorter 2020 season. But in yet another season marred by injuries, he only managed to hit.233 with four home runs and 25 RBI. Hayes’ defensive prowess is unmatched by many players in Major League Baseball. His bat has always been his question mark, and he has lately added one over his health. With a team option in 2030, Hayes is starting the fourth year of an eight-year contract.

Getting him would come at a high cost, since he would have been in charge for at least four years. This is how a possible deal may appear: Acquired by the New York Yankees: 3B Hayes, Ke’Bryan The Pittsburgh Pirates Obtain: OF 3B Oswaldo Cabrera, RHP Zach Messinger (Yankees No. 18 prospect), and Jasson Domínguez (Yankees No. 1 prospect)

Yankees Raise Stakes For LeMahieu, Torres With Chisholm Trade

The Pirates now have a possible Hayes replacement in Cabrera, who could face off against Isaiah Kiner-Falefa or Jared Triolo. Given the Yankees’ outfield mess, Domínguez would be the key component of the trade.

The Pirates are in need, and it’s an opportunity for him to start over. Messinger would be an add-on to make the offer even better.
