The Chicago Bears ended a terrible 11-game losing skid on Sunday by eking out a 24–22 victory over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, giving their supporters cause for celebration. The Bears trolled Green Bay on social media by sharing a picture of a cheese grater with the slogan, “Grate win,” in honour of their infrequent triumph over the Packers.
Fans on the social networking site X, formerly known as Twitter, have responded to that tweet in a variety of ways. Here are a few of them:
“Well done on reaching five victories!” A commenter made this caustic statement.
Another fan said, “Bro had this in the drafts for many years.”
I think it’s great that we’re celebrating this victory as though it were the Super Bowl. We deserve to celebrate, so I’m all for it. It’s the first victory over the Packers in seven years. My first road victory in three years. This season’s first victory since Week 6. “I love you all no matter what. 🐻⬇️,” a fan wrote.
“Bears social media intern been cooking this one up for three years,” said another comment.
“Congratulations on defeating the Green Bay scout team,” said another X user. You have nine more months to enjoy this incredible accomplishment!
The Chicago Bears defeat the Green Bay Packers to close out the 2024 NFL season.
In the Packers game, Josh Blackwell’s 94-yard punt return touchdown gave the Bears the lead. After a Cari Santos extra-point kick in the second quarter, Chicago running back D’Andre Swift raced for a touchdown to increase the Bears’ advantage to 11 points.
Before halftime, Brandon McManus made a field goal from 30 yards out after Packers running back Josh Jacobs had scored a touchdown, cutting Chicago’s lead to one point. DJ Moore’s touchdown reception in the third quarter gave Chicago some breathing room, but the Packers took the lead with less than a minute remaining in regulation thanks to Emmanuel Wilson’s rushing touchdown and another field goal from McManus. However, Santos’ 51-yard field goal gave Chicago the victory, so that lead didn’t last long.
