Late on Sunday night, another 2026 receiver committed to Tennessee. Tyran Evans, a three-star prospect, declared his intention to enroll at Tennessee, beating out Florida, Miami, Florida State, and a number of other schools.
After accepting his Tennessee offer in November, the North Carolina native made two fast trips to Knoxville. Evans made his pledge just two months after the initial offer, indicating that Tennessee had convinced him early on.
After scoring 14 touchdowns while playing for William Amos Hough High School in the Charlotte region last autumn, the 6-3 receiver shot to prominence on recruiting radars. In his breakthrough season, he averaged more than 27 yards per catch. As Evans enters his senior year, the 247Sports Composite rankings have him slightly outside of the top 500 prospects in the class of 2026.
It’s important to note that Tennessee is also pursuing Samari Matthews, one of Evans’ teammates and a cornerback prospect ranked in the top 100.
Evans is a member of Tennessee’s 2026 class, which also includes four-star receiver Tyreek King. With No. 1 overall pick Faizon Brandon at the top, the Volunteers now have seven commitments in that group.
