The Buffalo Bills lost to the New England Patriots 23-16 over the weekend, their fourth defeat of the season. The Bills, who rested their starters for the game, were not greatly affected by the setback. Even though the Bills lost, they still won since Buffalo had already secured the No. 2 seed in the AFC and the victory cost the Patriots the first choice in the 2025 NFL draft.
Head coach Sean McDermott issued a strong warning to his squad before they practiced for a week before facing the Denver Broncos in a wild card game, even though Buffalo didn’t really lose anything. “Everything is earned and there’s nothing given in the playoffs,” he stated. “And you’re going against the best every week, so we start with one week and really one day at a time and get back in here and find out when we play and take it one day at a time.”
The NFL emphasized Buffalo’s ability to safeguard the football and star quarterback Josh Allen in the days preceding the game. According to an announcement made by the NFL on Thursday morning, “The @BuffaloBills are the first team in the Super Bowl era with fewer than 15 sacks allowed and fewer than 15 giveaways in the same season.”
Buffalo started the week as an eight-point favourite over Denver, and as the game gets closer, the line has shifted even more in the Bills’ favour. With two days left before kickoff, Josh Allen and company are suddenly 8.5-point favourites, per ESPN Bet. On Sunday afternoon, the Buffalo vs. Denver game will begin at 1:00 p.m. ET and be televised by CBS.
