This offseason, the Atlanta Falcons will look for a place to sign Kirk Cousins. The organization has already stated unequivocally that the veteran quarterback will not be cut. The Atlanta executive management is more than eager to reinstate Kirk Cousins as the team’s main backup for the 2025 campaign if they are being serious and not just acting. This only makes sense because Cousins is less expensive on Atlanta’s roster than he would be if cut in the offseason. Giving the team what they seem to perceive as leverage while saving critical cap space.
Given Deshaun Watson’s recent ailment, the Falcons might have found a suitor for the seasoned quarterback. This is the best trade Atlanta has ever made to improve their Kirk Cousins predicament. When on the field, Watson is possibly the league’s weakest starter and is still prone to injuries. The Browns have to find a solution for the 2025 season after putting themselves in this predicament.
