BREAKING: Penn State Former Five-Star Has Officiallly Reveals His Decision To Return Back To Penn State to lead defensive line in 2025

The Georgia Bulldogs made a significant announcement on Tuesday that should help the offence look similar at tight end in 2025, even as they cope with a number of transfer departures and NFL draft announcements following their playoff demise. Under head coach Kirby Smart, position coach Todd Hartley has assembled one of the nation’s best tight end groupings. Three-time All-American Brock Bowers, who was selected as an NFL All-Pro as a rookie with the Las Vegas Raiders this season, is one of the tight ends selected by Georgia in each of the last six NFL selections. In 2024, junior Oscar Delp succeeded Bowers, but he did not achieve the success UGA had hoped for. Additionally, the 6-foot-5, 245-pound tight end has decided to return to Athens for his senior season in 2025 rather than take a chance at the next level.

Penn State's Nick Singleton, Kaytron Allen announce they'll be back in 2025

Delp, who joined the Bulldogs as a four-star recruit and was ranked as the top player in his position in the class of 2022, has the talent (247Sports). As a true freshman, the West Forsyth High School (Georgia) product covered Bowers and future Pittsburgh Steeler Darnell Washington. As a sophomore in 2023, Delp and Bowers shared the No. 2 spot. That season, he caught a career-high 24 passes for 284 yards and three touchdowns, setting up a promising future for Delp in 2024. Delp was rarely used as a receiver, though, as the Georgia offence struggled to establish a rhythm throughout the season. In the end, he caught 21 passes for 248 yards and four touchdowns, helping the Bulldogs win the SEC and earn a spot in the College Football Playoffs.

It should be mentioned that Smart and Co. will always appreciate the fact that Delp was one of Georgia’s most reliable blockers. And with the upcoming adjustments to the UGA offence, it wouldn’t be shocking if Delp made a significant leap as a senior. Following his move to Miami, former starting quarterback Carson Beck is anticipated to hand the reigns over to redshirt sophomore Gunner Stockton. Among other things, the Bulldogs will need to replace two of their starting receivers. With rising junior Lawson Luckie playing a bigger role following Benjamin Yurosek’s departure to the NFL, Delp is probably going to be the best choice in the tight end room. Georgia also recruited four-star tight ends Elyiss Williams and Ethan Barbour, two of the best tight ends in the 2025 class. The 2025 season will begin on August 30 when UGA hosts Marshall.
